Michael Braxton
Knowledgeable Fort Myers DUI Defense Lawyer
For more than two decades, Attorney Michael Braxton has defended the rights
of those facing criminal or DUI charges. He has handled thousands of cases
throughout the state of Florida, after beginning his legal career as an
assistant public defender in Tampa. He is committed to obtaining the best
possible outcome for his clients and has won not guilty verdicts in a
vast array of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors and DUI charges
all the way to felonies punishable by life in prison. His skill in the
courtroom includes pre-trial motions, bench trials, and jury trials. Beyond
the courtroom, Mr. Braxton has won countless driver’s license hearings
and is adept at securing case dismissals on the basis of illegal searches
and seizures, police misconduct, or destruction of evidence, among other reasons.
Following his time with the Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Braxton
joined the law firm of Essen & Essen et al., becoming a partner and
continuing to focus on defending DUI and criminal cases, before leaving
to start his own firm. He is sought after as a guest lecturer at seminars
across Florida, teaching his fellow attorneys methods and techniques for
winning a DUI or criminal case, as well as how to properly cross-examine
a witness. Nationally published articles he has authored include DUI and
criminal defense topics such as how to deal with unlawful police stops
and how to have blood, breath and urine results excluded from a case.
Mr. Braxton is licensed to practice in both Florida and New Jersey.
